Burak Acar
Nav. Arch., MSc.,
PhD.

Burak Acar graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Faculty
of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering as a “naval architect
and ocean engineer” in 1998. He got his Master of Science
degree from the same department in 2001 and got his PhD degree
from Dokuz Eylul University,
School of Maritime Business and Management.
He has worked in a project at University of New Orleans, USA in
2001 which was "Implementation of Six Sigma System at shipyards
and Using Quality Systems for Increasing Efficiency and
Profitability".
He gives"ship construction and stability" lectures at Dokuz
Eylul University, in the School of Maritime Business and
Management.
He has been the president of the Chamber of Naval Architects and
Marine Engineers of Turkey, Izmir Branch, between 2001 and 2005.
His main field of interest is designing yachts and small crafts.
He has been designing yachts and small crafts since 1998. There
are many realised designs of Burak Acar. Some of his latest projects
that have met the sea
are 35 m steel sailing yacht, 14 m steel motoryacht, 6
m GRP speed craft, 7.20 m GRP power boat, 8.60 m fiberglass trawler,
8.50 m GRP motorboat, 13 m steel fishing boat, 16 m Gulet (Traditional
Turkish Sail Boat) and 18 m Dailiy Passenger Trip Boat.
He recently works on
military boats and service
boats design and engineering.
He has experience in yacht design, haydrostatics and stability
calculations, 3 D Modelling, speed-power estimations, CE
documentations and calculations and shipyard management
strategies.
